Delhi: Cricketer Pradeep Singh Ayer has announced his retirement from all forms of cricket. Born in Delhi with roots in Doti Nepal, Pradeep played cricket in Delhi for seven years and one year in Nepal. He is now living abroad and has decided to step away from the game.
Pradeep started playing cricket as a child and later represented Delhi at the under-16 level. He was also part of the Air India cricket team before an unfortunate accident forced him to take a break. During his recovery, he trained hard and practiced with well-known Indian players like Suresh Raina, Shikhar Dhawan, and Jayant Yadav.
After struggling to re-establish himself in Delhi’s evolving cricket scene, Ayer decided to move to Nepal in search of better opportunities. Though he initially missed out on selection for Nepal’s PM Cup squad, his breakthrough came in the Kailali Premier League (KPL), a district-level tournament. Where he impresses as an all-rounder. He scored 90 runs and took 6 wickets in just three matches.
“Cricket has always been my passion. Though I couldn’t reach the national level, I’m proud of my journey. I thank my parents, cousins, coaches, and everyone who supported me,” said Pradeep. With this, Pradeep Singh Ayer closes a meaningful chapter in his cricket career and moves on to a new phase of life abroad.
