The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) received over 3000 applications for the head coach vacancy. Out of these 3,000 applications, there are some fake submissions as well.
It is to be noted that the current Indian Cricket Team coach Rahul Dravid’s tenure will end after the T20 World Cup. The mega ICC event will be played in the USA and West Indies and will be Dravid’s last assignment.
The deadline to apply for this post was 27th May 2024. BCCI has received applications from former cricketers, such as Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni, Harbhajan Singh, and other cricketers, all of them being fake. The fake applicants have also used the names of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
And this is not the 1st time, the richest cricket board has received this many fake applications. Just two years back, the Board had to deal with fake applications too when it received nearly 5,000 applications via mail. Being the most powerful cricket board in the world, a process-oriented system needs to be built.
