Leeds: India ended 3rd day on a positive note, 215/2 was the score of team IND at the stumps on day 3. Star opener Rohit Sharma and said to be India’s new Mr. Dependable Cheteshwar Pujara stole the show on day 3 with their batting and put India in a fighting position. Surprising Indian Captain Virat Kohli is also going strong this time.
England all out on 432
England started the day from 423/8 and bowled out for 432, courtesy to Bumrah and Shami for getting Robinson and Overton. India had a mountain to climb of 354 run in their 2nd inning. India lost an early wicket of KL Rahul (8) at the score of 18 runs. Rahul tried to play out-swinger of Craig Overton just to nick it in the slips and Bairstow made no mistakes in grabbing a good catch.
India Dominates The 2nd Session
Later in 2nd session Pujara joined inform opener Rohit Sharma on crease. Rohit and Pujara both were a rock solid for team India in 2nd session. India made 78 runs without losing any wicket in 2nd session before Tea break. Rohit continued his good form and completed his second half century of the series. Indian Captain Joins
At the other end Pujara was still going strong and made sure not to play any bad shots. Captain Kohli joined the crease and both batters added 99 runs to their partnership and put India in strong position at the end of Day 3. Pujara completed his half century off Overton ball by sending it to the fences in 50th over. Later both the batsman made sure to not loose any wicket in this session. The play was called doff early due to bad light. Despite of all the positives on day 3, India still has got a 139 run lead to cover and put some target on board if they want to win this match. Which is very unlikely. Currently, Pujara is not out on 91 (180) runs and Kohli 45 (94).
