New Delhi: The Youth Games Council India (YGCI) successfully organised the 2nd Edition of the YGCI National Sports Awards 2025 on 24 December 2025 at the India International Centre, New Delhi. The national-level award ceremony recognised and honoured outstanding athletes, coaches, and individuals who have made significant contributions to the development of sports across various states of India.
The event was graced by former Union Minister of State Shri Nagmani Kushwaha as the Chief Guest, while Dr. Rajan Singh, DISHA Committee Member, Government of Bihar, attended as the Guest of Honour. The dignitaries presented trophies, mementoes, and certificates to the awardees, acknowledging their dedication and achievements in the field of sports.
The primary objective of this YGCI initiative is to identify, recognise, and promote athletes emerging from the grassroots level by providing them with a transparent and credible national platform. Young sportspersons from diverse disciplines showcased exemplary performances, reflecting their hard work, discipline, and commitment.
Commitment to a Bigger 3rd Edition Next Year
YGCI announced that this successful edition marks just the beginning. The organisation has resolved to host the 3rd Edition of the YGCI National Sports Awards on a much larger scale next year, with wider participation and enhanced outreach. YGCI reiterated its commitment to continuously encouraging and nurturing India’s sporting talent.
The successful execution of the event has generated renewed enthusiasm among young athletes nationwide and is seen as a positive step towards strengthening grassroots sports and providing new direction to India’s sporting ecosystem.
