Pushkar Sharma continued his red-hot form in the 7th match of the NPCA League, smashing his second consecutive century and leading Ruaraka Sports Club to a dominant win over Gara Sports Club. With this performance, Sharma has strongly positioned himself as a contender for selection in the upcoming Jersey Tour.
After winning the toss, Ruaraka opted to bowl first. Gara Sports Club posted a total of 254 runs in their allotted 50 overs. Nitish starred with the ball for Ruaraka, taking 4 crucial wickets. Pushkar Sharma also impressed with the ball, delivering 10 tight overs, conceding just 32 runs with 2 maidens, and picking up the important wicket of Gara captain Rajeev Sutharia.
In reply, Ruaraka came out all guns blazing. The chase got off to a flying start, with Pushkar smashing 22 runs in the very first over, including 4 boundaries and a six. He went on to score a blistering 106 off just 53 balls, hitting 13 fours and 5 sixes. After Pushkar’s dismissal, Satyalaksh took charge and anchored the chase with an unbeaten 101*, sealing the victory in just 28.3 overs.
