Kenya concluded its campaign in the ICC World Cup Challenge League 2024, finishing in fourth place after a competitive series held from September 26 to October 5, 2024. The tournament featured six teams: Jersey, Kenya, Kuwait, Papua New Guinea (PNG), Qatar, and Denmark, with all matches granted List A status.
Jersey topped the group, finishing in first place with 8 points, closely followed by PNG, also with 8 points. Kuwait secured the third position with 6 points, while Kenya and Denmark both ended with 4 points, with Kenya placed higher due to better net run rate. Qatar struggled throughout the tournament, failing to win any matches.
Kenya’s Rakep Patel emerged as the team’s standout performer, scoring 284 runs across five matches at an impressive average of 94.67. His teammate, Pushkar Sharma, also made significant contributions, finishing as the second-highest scorer for Kenya with 195 runs, averaging 39.
Despite the challenges, the tournament provided valuable experience for the Kenyan side as they look ahead to future competitions.
