Aayush Subedi, born on November 8, in Bharatpur, Nepal, grew up in a middle-class family with a passion for cricket. From a young age, he displayed his love for the sport by playing with a ball made up of socks and a bat of bamboo stick. Sometimes, he would even use a stone as a makeshift ball to play in front of his home.
Despite the limited resources, Aayush was determined to pursue his dream. He began collecting money from different festivals and saved it until he had enough to buy a bat and ball. With his new equipment, he started playing with his friends after school, usually until the evening when the sun set.
Aayush was dedicated to improving his skills and would spend countless hours on the ground, honing his cricketing abilities. He idolized Ricky Ponting, the former Australian cricketer, and drew inspiration from his playing style and achievements.
Recognizing Aayush’s talent and passion, his family enrolled him in the Royal Cricket Academy. It was there that he received invaluable guidance from coaches Santosh Neupane , Bishal Poudel and with the mentor of RCA and a fast bolwer of Nepal national team Kishor Mahto, who helped him refine his technique and develop his overall game.
Aayush, a right-handed batter, always gave his full effort on the field, displaying a relentless determination to succeed. He dreams of representing the Nepal national team and playing in various leagues. However, his journey to fulfill these dreams is still ongoing.
With his talent, dedication, and the support of his mentors, Aayush continued to work hard and showcase his skills in local tournaments and matches. He aimed to catch the attention of selectors and earn a place in the national team, representing his country with pride and honor.
He even earned a few words of praise from the former English cricketer Ian Bell. Talking about the same, Aasush said, “I am just 16 y/o, I recently practiced at NHPC, Lahore, and back to Nepal. And getting some appreciation and guidance from Ian Bell, the former English cricketer.”
Aayush Subedi’s story is a testament to the power of passion and perseverance. Despite humble beginnings and limited resources, he remained steadfast in his pursuit of excellence in cricket. With his unwavering dedication and the right opportunities, he hoped to one day achieve his dream and make a mark on the international cricketing stage.
