Team India’s star batter Sanju Samson has been ruled out for the remaining ongoing T20I series against Sri Lanka. During 1st match against Sri Lanka, Samson hurt his knee while fielding. And now, when Samson cannot play in the series anymore, Jitesh Sharma, another wicketkeeper batter, has been named as his replacement.
For those unversed, Jitesh Sharma played for Punjab Kings in 2022 and impressed everyone with his batting and wicketkeeping skills. Sharma has played some fine knocks for the Punjab Kings. His fearless batting style was quite impressive and after Samson’s injury, selectors gave him an opportunity to Sharma.
India will play the second T20I against Sri Lanka in Pune on 5th January 2023.
