Vasundhara Baranwal of St. Basil School, Basti, won her first major badminton tournament in an Inter-school tournament. Vasundhara, a class 9th student of St. Basil School, played exceptionally well in her major badminton tournament. She clinched the title without losing any single set in the entire tournament.
Vasundhara skipped a family function to take part in the game. And it seems like the 15-year-old badminton champ was right to prioritize her game instead of the family function. Currently, a 9th-standard student, Vasundhara, wishes to pursue her career in badminton in the future.
When talking about her game, Vasundhara faced her first opponent from St. Xavier’s School, Siddhartha Nagar. She defeated her first opponent in straight games by 15-5 and 15-7. Notably, the tournament was played on the best-of-three-games concept (15 points per game), and the Basil girl did enough damage to qualify for the semi-final.

Later, in her semi-final, Vasundhara beat Lisa of Little Flower School, Gorakhpur. And once again, the St. Basil’s 9th grader dominated the game. She defeated Lisa by 15-6 and 15-8 on consecutive sets.
And last but not the least, Vasundhara continued her excellent form in the final when she faced Adrika of Chargawan. Just like the semi-final, the 15-year-old ran riots in the final. She defeated Adrika by 15-6 and 15-8 to clinch the title.
Vasundhara also thanked her coach Durgesh Nandini, who has been immensely supportive of her.
Note: All games took place at the St. Basil School’s badminton court.
